DEC. Canine Good Citizen (CGC) class

Service Description

Appropriate for adolescent and adult dogs (roughly one to two years and up) who have completed our Adult Dog Manners or an equivalent class with proof of Parvo, Distemper, and Rabies vaccinations (or titers) required prior to the start of the first class. Each week of class we learn and practice the 10 different elements that are part of the A.K.C.’s Canine Good Citizen test. On the last day of class, all of the teams will test to try to earn their CGC certification and official title. We will practice these important behaviors: Accepting a friendly stranger, Sitting politely for petting, Appearance and grooming, Out for a walk (walking on a loose lead), Walking through a crowd, Sit and down on cue and staying in place, Coming when called, Reaction to another dog while out on a walk, Reaction to distractions, and Supervised separation.
